Photography and Such.

// March 21st, 2010 // 1 Comment » // Music, UST, Work

So wassup? Been a month again since I last updated. How’s everyone? March has been crazy for me. Thanks for the feedback on the song from the last post; most have commented on FB, Twitter and YouTube instead, but thanks nonetheless. I appreciate it :]

Okay, all those aside, I have a few announcements to make. First is that my photography website will be up by the end of the month. If you’re interested, just check out snapshot.imeerocks.net. There’s just a countdown thingy there at the moment, but rest assured, I’m hard at work at finishing the site.

Second, I have submitted a few photos to UST’s Tumblr account vivasantotomas.tumblr.com and I think my submissions have gotten pretty positive feedback (likes & reblogs occurring everywhere).

And oh, I’m gonna be working on some music again after all the graphic-related mania. My eyes are starting to hurt. lol

about time I update this

// July 29th, 2009 // 3 Comments » // FEU, Family, Friends, Life, Music, Sports, UST, Work

So it’s been what, a month? What’s up y’all? Riiight, like anyone still reads this besides my crazy former coworkers (that’s right, I’m onto you guys). lmfao

Hmm. Okay, first off I’m now officially jobless. HAHAHA. I like it, doing nothing for a while. Thinking of doing some freelance writing and/or SEO. I actually liked my former job… It’s the commute to & from the office that kinda killed me.

Next, family. Celebrated birthdays (my dad’s, my mom’s, then my sister’s) and father’s day all over the place. At home, at the mall, everywhere. Family time is love ;)

What else? Oh yeah. My social life. Been hanging out with a lot of friends & coworkers lately. Eating out & drinking with the latter, mostly. With friends, well let’s just say the DreamGirls are back in the UAAP ;)

Speaking of which… UST and FEU are doing amazing in said league. My Final Four picks for this season, in no particular order: UST, FEU, UE and ADMU. UST will emerge as the champion (sorry FEU pals, haha).

Music-wise, my iPod is nearly full! Really! I never thought I could fill up 30gigs of space with over 10 thousand songs plus a bunch of movies & videos. But I’m not buying a new one anytime soon. I could use a new mobile phone though… iPhone or BlackBerry? But I might buy a camera first, before I start buying a phone and a Macbook. Ah whatever. Come September I’ll be rich anyway ;)

I need inspiration… To write music, to watch UAAP basketball, to find work, to clean my room!

This is getting a little too long. Gots to go now. Byeee

PS: It’s my parents’ wedding anniversary on Friday. <333

Like what I’ve done to the place?

// June 4th, 2009 // Comments Off // Family, Site Updates, Work

What can you say about the new look of the site? It’s actually based on a free WP template (which you may or may have seen me use yesterday). Credits for that original and all the stuff used on this layout can be found in the Colophon page.

I combined a lot of elements I like into it. It’s a minimalist theme that barely uses images, so site loading is quick. It’s got a fixed width that looks okay in browsers (I’ve tried on my 1280-wide screen and at my office laptop that has 1024 pixels only). I used a cute new set of images for the Sociable plugin (those little buttons below each entry), which seem to suit the look just fine. I also went trigger-happy with the widgets (2 Flickr, 1 Twitter, etc…) on the sidebar. I also changed the colors from shades of pink to a deep shade of red, tinkered with the image CSS code, and made the header image using brushes and my own randomness. ;) I’ve made this theme version “my own” and I might keep this look for a very long time.

So anyway, I have to go. It’s wayyy past 3am, and yesterday I slept only about 3 hours, so I need to catch up on some sleep. I don’t wanna end up dozing off at work or anything like that! Haha :D

PS: It’s my dad’s brithday today! :love:

new site look & new stuff

// May 31st, 2009 // Comments Off // Friends, Love, Music, Rant, Site Updates, Sports, UST, Work

A few new things to notice about the site:

  • There’s Google ads. Hey, I need money too.
  • I changed the layout. I used a customizable WP theme.
  • The music page went berserk, for reasons I can’t explain. I need to fix it, hmp. It’s fixed! You may now head to the music page to listen to my songs.

So I went out with co-workers last Friday. CRAZY PEOPLE. You decide if that’s a good or bad thing. At one part of the night I felt violated. I’m not kidding. But there’s a bunch of pics, just check my Multiply site (link is at the left sidebar).

Yesterday I hung out a bit at the UST gym. A friend of mine (who’s also a varsity player), kept making fun of me. DUDE. That issue you’re forcing on me and your room mate is SO OVER. :( ( But it was all in good fun, haha.

After basketball practice, I watched a basketball game with a friend/co-worker. This guy on one of the teams, drove me crazy (in a good way, mind you). He was on his team’s bench, when he saw me and waved! Then after the game, he approached me, held my hand, then let it linger. I don’t know what that means, I don’t even know if it means ANYTHING at all. All I know is when I realized what happened, I was happy :love:

epic BOOYAH!

// May 19th, 2009 // 2 Comments » // Celebrities, FEU, Family, Friends, Life, Love, Music, Rant, Sports, UST, Work

Damn. Been watching to much of Kim Possible at 3 in the morning. That Ron Stoppable made me say “booyah” a couple of times already! :D

ANYWAY. Onto business…

  1. David Cook & David Archuleta concert – It was AMAZING. I like them both but I never thought I’d SCREAM for Archie. And of course, DC rocked the house down. They did A Daily AntheM’s ending together. :) For concert media, check out: photos | tweets | videos
  2. I’ve been having a stressful bunch of weeks lately. More than two weeks now! Today was especially horrifying. Not naming names or specifying what happened, but all I know is it was unfair. My office laptop’s charger is missing, office tasks were created then done then cancelled, a client from my 2nd job postponed something while another client won’t respond, and on top of that… MY SANDWICH WAS SOGGY! It was barely even a sandwich. I even cried. People thought I broke up with my boyfriend or something. I said, “I wish it was love I was having problems with!” I ended up buying a muffin from Starbucks to make myself feel better, and that’s low.
  3. I absented myself from work last Thursday. Originally, I was going to watch basketball before work with a co-worker, but after I just went home for much needed rest. Like I said, too much stress!!! UST (my school) lost to State U that day, while FEU (my friends’ school) won over another college.
  4. Spent Mother’s Day with the family. We were complete except for my sister-in-law who spent her day with her mom in the parlor. lol. I gave my mom a CD each of DC and Archie, and she loved them. My brother & his wife gave her a yummy-smelling lotion, my eldest sister & her husband brought food, and my other sister made pasta. My dad drove at 3 or 4am just to buy mom flowers, despite a throbbing, painful left foot. :love:
  5. Been missing my friends. Saw a huge bunch of them lately! A lot during the concert, actually. It was pretty funny. Nothing like Idol 7 finalists to bring friends together unexpectedly! :P
  6. And oh yeah. Love life. Hmm. Where am I heading? For me to know, and for you to find out (though that never really made sense to me, haha!)

On a side note, I’m feeling MUCH better now. A Starbucks muffin, a few good friends (including online ones), and music will always make me feel better. And when I got home, my mom heated some of the food she cooked yesterday–nothing like a home made meal. COMFORT FOOOOOOD :)

PS: Danny Gokey still rules. I love Kris Allen and Adam Lambert though. Who is it for you, Kris or Adam? ;)

PPS: Should I watch the Pussycat Dolls next month?

radio.blog installed! :)

// March 1st, 2009 // Comments Off // Life, Music, Site Updates, Work

HEYAAA! I’d just like to let y’all know that I installed a little thingy called “radio.blog” on my MUSIC page! :) I had this before, a couple of years back, but I’ve only gotten to installing again it tonight. Haha.

So yeah, there’s new music there. It’s not original music though. I have my 4 “best known” original songs there plus a bunch of covers. Two new uploads are there too, namely “Breathe No More” and “Good Enough” by Evanescence. I sang them terribly, but let it go ’cause this is my site. lol :P Click on MUSIC at the sidebar now!

Anyway, I’m just at home groovin’ to Paramore and trying to rest ’cause my body is having a war with me. Sadly, it’s winning. I have this strange pain on my right knee, right shoulder blade and my tummy area as well, and on top of that my eyes are killing me! :(

So it’s now March. I can’t believe it’s March already! (Happy birthday to my friend Kix by the way!) Two months have already passed by and I didn’t even really feel them. Haha. In a nutshell, here’s what happened in the past two months: I almost died (I’m not kidding) on New Year’s Day, I turned 22 on January 8, and I had no date on Valentine’s day. Or maybe I did. I’ll leave it up to you to guess. ;)

What am I up to? Well there has been a LOT of work lately… Not that I’m complaining, but you know, commenting on 30-50 sites in addition to writing 3 articles each day can get mentally exhausting! Good thing I always have my iPod and sites like Facebook to keep my head balanced, eh?

I wanna get a haircut and I also wanna dye my hair. I just can’t find the time ’cause I’m always either tired, sleeping or not in the mood to go out. Haha, RANDOM!

I’m going to Eraserheads Live: The Final Set on March 7th and I’m really excited. For those of you around the globe who don’t know the Eraserheads, well let’s just say they’re the Beatles of the Philippines. They broke up a few years back but they are so legendary here that the millions of fans finally got their wish–a reunion concert. This is the 2nd reunion concert, and the final one at that. It’s my FIRST concert of theirs, because I was just a wee little kid during the peak of their career in the 90s. Yeah, that’s right.. You’re old. :P

Check out my Friendster horoscope for today!

The Bottom Line
This is a good time to indulge in fantasies. Imagine what you want your life to be.

In Detail
Thinking ahead may seem impossible — right now, you really don’t know what’s coming. Since you don’t have a crystal ball, you won’t be able to figure it out without more information. But maybe you shouldn’t get so caught up in thinking in terms of a certain timeframe. Instead of figuring out what the next week, month or year holds, think in bigger and less specific terms. This is a good time to indulge in fantasies — imagine what you want your life to be like, in general.

Now, that is something to think about! I have to fantasize about my being a rockstar in the future. And I have to meet David Cook and Adam Lambert too. Probably get married to one of them. Lol. ;)

I’m blabbering. I don’t even know if I still make sense! But anyway, the whole point of this post was just to promote the MUSIC page that I’ve just spiffied up. Go visit!

PS: Also check out my HERBALIFE site, click the link on the sidebar to visit. Thanks! :)

10 Things I Am Thankful For
(I got tagged by Queennie)

People often complain of what is not present. We often dwell on things we don’t have. Well, for a change I hope we can (even for a while) think of the great things we have. Hope you would share your thoughts too guys…

1. I am thankful for each day I’m alive. Especially back when I got REALLY sick on New Year’s Day this year… Back then, I really thought I might die. So yeah, I’m thankful I’m still alive. :)

2. I am thankful for being blessed with a beautiful family. They’re beautiful inside and out. They’re amazing and I love them so much.

3. I am also thankful for my true friends. They’ve been with me through thick and thin–through my bad days and not just my good ones. They support me, they understand me, and they make me happy. I hope I do the same for them :)

4. I am thankful for my two best friends, especially my first real best friend. Not that the second is less appreciated or anything… ;p I used to say I don’t like the term best friend but there really is one or two people you can’t help but be honest with and share everything with.

5. I am thankful for my health! I may be skinny-looking but I tell ya, I’m healthy! Thanks to being brought up by my family as a healthy eater. I love veggies, I love fruits, juices, cheeses, and meats/fowls that aren’t greasy. But I do love eating a couple of sweets here and then. But hey, it’s all in moderation :)

a1409961451_30215813_95666. I am thankful for Herbalife! Seriously. It saved my family, both financially and health-wise. Thanks to their products, we are living healthier, no stress, we’re much happier, not much tension anymore, no more worries, and we know that Herbalife can not only give us health but also wealth!

7. I am thankful for my imperfections. I believe those make me who I am. “Unique just like everyone else” is quite paradoxical–nobody is ever the same. I learned never to be jealous, because I know that God made me this way and has given me the blessings I deserve and experiences I need to learn.

8. I am thankful for my job. It’s a good one, the pay is alright, and the workload isn’t always that bad. I’m quite enjoying myself and I’m getting the hang of it. The people aren’t so bad either… I’m quiet around them because, well, I’m still trying to get used to them (even if I’ve been here for about 8 months now).

9. I’m thankful for my God-given talents. I don’t have to enumerate what they are, but I’m thankful I can do those things that other people would kill to just be able to do for a day. I may sometimes feel the same way about others’ talents, but that’s what makes all of us special anyway :)

10. I am thankful for finishing my education. Not everybody gets this privilege, especially because education costs a lot of money. I’m glad I did well and graduated on time despite the fact that I didn’t really try so hard. I know I could’ve done better during the latter part (esp. in high school and some parts of college), but I did enjoy (most of) my years as a student. I earned friends and experiences along the way as well! :)

So what are YOU thankful for? :)

kids these days…

// February 17th, 2009 // 25 Comments » // Life, Work

I was at work and my officemate told me about this strange little story. Take a good look at this photo and think really hard what the relationships between these three are:

Alfie Patten, Chantelle Steadman & baby Maisie [photo by Lee Thompson]

Alfie, Chantelle & baby Maisie - photo by Lee Thompson

If you guessed a brother & sister celebrating the birth of a new sibling, you’re WRONG.

If you guessed “proud parents & their newborn child” …Well, you’re not just CORRECT. You’re bordering on bizarre. First time I saw this photo I really couldn’t believe my eyes. Alfie, the 13-year-old father (who looks 10, by the way), is only about 4 feet tall. He wouldn’t pass for a dad. But… well… he is.

Read more about it here.

Kids these days… :D

get me OUT of here!!! :((

// July 1st, 2008 // Comments Off // Life, Rant, Work

This is CRAZY. It’s so hot in the office for the past week. I don’t get it. Sira ba yung aircon? Will somebody PLEASE fix the goddamn thing. Nahilo ako kahapon, no joke. And today a colleague hyperventilated and had a panic attack! My God! And you expect us to work smoothly? Plus the whole Pasig Day thing. They moved the Pasig Day vacations into individual holidays. Deferred holiday because instead of all of us not having work tomorrow (July 2), we’ll all have separate days when we’ll be on leave. Boo. It sucks because tomorrow’s Rakrakan & Rampahan (or is it the other way around?) of UST. Someone made me go. It could be fun. But damn, it would’ve been more fun if I had no laptop to lug around! Maybe I’ll leave it at a friend’s dorm room if he allows. Hehe.

…and now for the sequel??

// August 10th, 2003 // Comments Off // Music, Work

Uh-huh. 10 days later and I already finished my next column? Ok, once again I’m allowing you guys to download it. This one’s only 195kb, so it’s even smaller than last time. Again, no stealing, kthnx.

Totally Rockin’ Tunes! [Issue 2]
password to open: llrocks [again, don’t ask me why…]

Oh yeah, I found my new best friend, where I downloaded more lo-fi MP3s. I’m such a genius! Muwahahahahaha. :D I’m so proud of myself?!

I gotta go. I’m craving for a brownie but all I have here are chocochip cookies & some peanut butter biscuits.

…and Alien Ant Farm’s “Smooth Criminal” playing in the background, hehe.
