Early in the Decade

// June 30th, 2010 // 4 Comments » // Computer, Family, Holidays, Music

Without much further ado, I present to you… “EARLY IN THE DECADE” =) My first EP, my first demo, and my first lo-fi record. I’m quite pleased with it, actually. The album is called that way because they were written early in my years of songwriting (2002 to 2005). Same reason why the album artwork features photos and art I’ve created in the same era.

Right now, you have two ways of downloading the EP for absolutely FREE:

  1. You can visit my BandCamp site to download each track or download the EP as a whole (I recommend the latter, by the way); or
  2. You can Pay with a Tweet (tweet about the EP in order to download it)

If you download the EP as a whole (aka in a ZIP file) you’ll find a few cool surprises in it. Just saying. Whichever method you’ll choose, I hope you’ll love it =)

Anyway, I spent the past month’s weekends with the family, celebrating my dad’s birthday, father’s day, and my mom’s birthday. ‘Twas great. Lots of yummy food. How has your month been like? Pleasant, I hope. Lotsa love your way <3

I’ve also been on a Twitter un-follow rampage, removing any unfamiliar person I’ve been following. I don’t see the point of following almost 300 people if half of them don’t even talk to you. So I’ve decided to follow only people I know personally, and a few celebs. Believe me, it was difficult doing that.

I’m getting pretty sleepy now, as I haven’t slept well since yesterday. I can tell because my eyes are droopy, I have not much energy left, and I’m swaying from side to side as I type this. Not to mention, I’ve pressed the backspace/delete key a lot of times already. LOL

so…

// February 18th, 2010 // Comments Off // Computer, Family, Holidays, Life

Oh, hi there. What up what up?

I’m lazy. Find me elsewhere. I’m seriously considering becoming a neo-Luddite. Well, not entirely. I mean, we all need technology one way or another. It’s just too frustrating sometimes. Errors here, there and everywhere. I’d like some zen into my life, thanks.

At the moment my Acer laptop is more of a sleep soother thingy. Whatever that’s called. ‘Cause when I go to sleep a few “white noise” and “relaxation” websites are on, playing rhythmic beats so I can sleep better. I’m a very, VERY sleep deprived person and I’d love to change that. I want to have enough sleep to keep me energetic and stuff. See, even this post is kinda making you sleepy. Huh?

What the eff. I gotta fix these smileys. I just upgraded WordPress and they’ve overwritten my smileys! Nooo. Gotta go. Hope to see y’all soon.

PS: Who wants to go see Paramore with me? I’ve no one to go watch it with.

PPS: How was your Valentine’s weekend? Mine was peachy. Spent it with the family.

…and to all, a good night!

// December 27th, 2009 // Comments Off // Holidays, Life

Merry Christmas, everybody :)

Sorry I haven’t been posting much here anymore [not that anybody still cares... LOL]. Been a little too busy with stuff. Work has been too stressful, so yeah. I don’t know where I’m supposed to start picking up the pieces now.

I suppose I can start by tidying up my room or something.

Who am I kidding. I can’t even tidy up my laptop these days!!! It’s so unlike me. I’m one of those obsessive kids who categorize things too much… i.e. clothes sorted by colors, digital pictures sorted by date [pictures folder > year > month > day > occasion]. So this has to be easy for me.

I don’t normally make new year’s resolutions, so I guess this’ll be my first. Be more organized. Than usual. And more of that physically, not just digitally.

PS: I’m turning 23 in less than 2 weeks. 2010 will be strange but great :)

it’s the most wonderful time of the year (=

// December 20th, 2007 // Comments Off // Friends, Holidays, Life, Love, UST

Hands down, this is the best Paskuhan yet. It just keeps getting better, I swear. :) All the shit I’ve been through all year, erased… Just because I spent time with some of the people I love & enjoy the company most. I don’t need to drop names–they know who they are. Thanks for the gifts, the escapades, and the great time we all had last night. It was a truly memorable one. :)

Probably the only thing I didn’t like about that night was the hurt I felt seeing this certain someone, looking at me, even if he’s with his significant other. I know they’re happy. But somehow I wish he wasn’t at all bitter towards me, it’s not like it’s my fault we’re not meant for each other. I don’t like this feeling–yung nagkakailangan. It’s way too hard, and it feels like such a waste, especially now that it’s the yuletide season. Magdodonate na sana ako nung hinihingi mo, kaso nag inarte ka, hmp!

But anyway, thanks to the UAAP Family. Tigers, Tams, Warriors (kahit di sumipot yung isa jan, lagot ka sakin! haha), and of course the VIP & Adiks. Again, no need to mention names. I’m saying this from the bottom of my heart: you’re all special to me and I thank you for this night worth remembering. I really love you guys.

PS: Ikaw. Oo ikaw. Namiss kita, alam mo na kung sino ka (= See you on my birthday, promise yan ha? (=

122605My dad gave my mom a bouquet of peach-colored roses for Christmas. He surprises us sometimes. Sweet, eh?

On Christmas Eve, I went to mass with some of my family. I haven’t done that in years… Go me! Ha. When we got home we ate our Noche buena (Christmas dinner) which was very delicious of course. :p Then at the stroke of midnight we rushed over to the living room to exchange gifts. Guess who was assigned (ahem, bullied) to be Santa. Even though I didn’t get everything I wanted, I really do like the ones I received. And yes, Liz, I really wanted to be with my whole family this year. That came true so it’s a big plus. ;)

Then on Christmas Day we all went to our grandma’s house. This is our first Christmas without her so it was a bit sad. My brother cried and my sister who’s a doctor was on duty (WTF?!), but other than that it was great. We also had games, great food, and hmm I got some cash from my relatives. Haha. More money for whatever the hell I’m saving for. Tehee.

I was supposed to go to the mall with my dad today but he got lazy about it & I overslept anyway. :D So the rest of today was spent eating, watching sitcoms, listening to Lindsay Lohan, talking on the phone & going online. I really gotta get a move on, though. I haven’t started on any of my homework for next year! What’s up with that anyway? Isn’t Christmas break supposed to be, well, Christmas break?!

I also wanna thank Dorthea & Paige for their Xmas fansigns! Thanks, everyone. I never expected I’d get so many this year… I love you all, really!

PS: Happy birthday, Verity!

happy holidays

// December 23rd, 2006 // 26 Comments » // Holidays

Been extremely busy lately, but since it’s the holidays I decided to leave y’all with this… Enjoy (= To my online friends, expect a comment from me w/ a personalized e-card, hehe.

Don’t direct link, fool.

So the past week was alright, I guess. The highlight of my week would have to be Wednesday. It was really fun for me because I hung out with a bunch of different people & saw old friends I haven’t seen in ages. I went to the mall with my mom first, then hung out at a friend’s house. Around 3pm was our class’ Christmas party which was alright. And then the Paskuhan which was our school’s annual Christmas concert party started around 6:30pm, it was ok too. Though I didn’t get to really watch it, because I was hanging out with some other friends of mine. And the guy I like. ^^, Hurray.

Hope y’all have a great holiday, have fun & keep safe (=

my laptop is a poser.

// December 10th, 2006 // 8 Comments » // Computer, Family, Holidays

Oh dear. Sorry for not updating again, I’m a lazy ass. Haha. But I bet a few have noticed I changed the layout, the other one really was too pink in my opinion. And I didn’t like how my face looked on it, so I opted for something simple.

So yeah, last Saturday (Dec. 2) I was out with my family. We ate at a place called Seafood Wharf then we walked around & then relaxed at Starbucks. Mmm, mocha frap. Took tons of pictures, half of which are still with my sister. Besides, I’m too lazy to upload them, remember? ;)

What else. Oh yeah, the laptop. We had an LQ (lovers’ quarrel) last Wednesday, since morning, hehe. I then realized it was trying to be a Mac when it was clearly on Windows XP. Ah well, whatever. But we eventually became ok. We had compromises, so now…

121006.jpg

December 7 was my friend Dylan’s birthday. Vanessa & I ambushed him after basketball practice. Hehe. We had a blast strolling down memory lane, dragging Vanessa along with us, lol.

About 2 weeks before Christmas and already I’m in vacation mode. Why? Because we barely had classes in the past two weeks. With the exception of classes last Thursday and yesterday, the last time I went to school was Monday last week. Oh dear, no wonder I’m so messed up at the moment. Been going out loads, wreaking havoc wherever my two feet step on. Though as I’ve mentioned in the previous entry, no presents yet!!! I just don’t feel that holiday vibe yet. But whatever, I’ll find time to buy pressies for everyone. (=

Pressies? Am I really turning British? Haha, kidding.

My aunt’s coming home from Michigan tonight, so I better get myself ready. I’m so lazy, it’s about 2pm and I still look like I just got out of bed. Rawr.

battle of the big cats. meow.

// November 28th, 2006 // 13 Comments » // Holidays, Music, Sports

I was watching a friend’s basketball game last Sunday. Our team (like I’ve mentioned in the previous post) won a collegiate league championship. So did their opponent in last Sunday’s game. Our team is the Growling Tigers, theirs is called the Red Lions. Hence, it was dubbed the “Battle of the Big Cats” ;p

I’m random.

So I haven’t written that much songs again lately, and I don’t know why. I mean, I have a lot of experiences & angst that could make for good songwriting material… But I can’t seem to put them onto paper. I don’t know if I’m uninspired (which is strange because I should be), or lazy (because I’m not). I really don’t know. It’s just another of those unfathomable things in life, I guess.

Less than a month before Christmas, and yet I haven’t bought anybody anything yet. Though I’ve been at the mall no less than 5 times in the past 2 weeks. Canvassing, errands, foodtripping. No gifts. I hate crowds. Especially holiday crowds.

I’ve decided to change the layout next month. Because even though I just put this one up a couple of days ago, I can sense that I look stupid in the layout. And it’s too pink. Haha. Besides, someone reacted violently when he saw it. I’m kidding. ;p

the story of my unconvetional holiday

// February 17th, 2006 // Comments Off // Holidays, Life, Love

I really should remind myself to start updating more. :p

I went shopping with Charlie today… for school shoes. The ones I’ve been using is so worn out that I have lots of wounds/callouses on my feet. Boo. But now, I’m back to wearing low-cut boots. Yay, I can wear my comfortable colored socks again & they won’t be noticed! Hmm, I’m strange.

Valentine’s Day was fine, we had only 2 subjects in school. In fact, it was just like any other day for me. I’m not the type of person who celebrates it much, even if I do have a boyfriend by my side. I actually celebrated it with him & our friends, drinking & singing on karaoke. I had more fun than I expected, even if Charlie & I had a bad argument that day. I think Valentine’s Day is overrated anyway.

Wednesday was alright I suppose. Some professors were acting strange because of our school being tested for accreditation. *coughfakerscough* We also barely did anything during handball, just a practical test & we had good grades for it. Muwahahaha.

Yesterday was ok too… I’m starting to get the hang of participating in Philosophy class. And I finished my informal speech in English class… I was pretty nervous but I think I did ok, considering that I got the attention of pretty much everyone… (don’t ask, it was weird). Then afterwards I went over to Charlie’s to watch some Friends videos.

It’s the weekend! I’m going to my friend’s birthday tomorrow evening, so I gotta go look for a dress in my closet & such. I’ll return comments in a while. And thanks to Michelle & Janelle for the fansigns <333

if you should fall, you know i’ll be there

// January 2nd, 2006 // Comments Off // Family, Holidays

So it’s now 2006 and I’m still on what my dad calls a holiday hangover.

I spent New Year’s Eve hanging out at a neighbor’s house with my dad & my brother till midnight. There were fireworks & everything, which was nice as opposed to the last few years (my neighborhood is LAME). Then we greeted everyone a Happy New Year, went home & ate our media noche (er… midnight dinner) with the family.

Then yesterday (New Year’s Day) I went to a relative’s house with my dad & my sister Larraine. We were supposed to meet up with our brother to do something that afternoon but he fell asleep. Anyway, in the evening we had dinner then had party games. I also made cocktails/punch which everyone loved. But just because it tasted like juice doesn’t mean it doesn’t have liquor. A couple of drinks later some people started acting weird, lol.

What’ve I been up to today? Well I woke up late again. Then my sister Doreen hung out here then gave me & our sister Larraine some clothes. Now I’m bored so I decided to listen to some rock/grunge music from the 90s (which to me is the best era of music).

Oh yeah, if anyone could point me to a good tutorial about skinning a site, that’d be great. The one from Codegrrl.com confused me a bit because it didn’t show how to make a “theme chooser” page. Or if you’re feeling generous, skin my site for me. ;)
