broken strings

// June 5th, 2010 // 1 Comment » // Celebrities, Family, Friends, Life, Music

James Morrison & Nelly Furtado said you can’t play on broken strings. And by golly, I think they’re right. There’s five guitars in this house, and none of them are working at the moment. One is my sister Doreen’s guitar, which she kind of abandoned. It is super out of tune, out of shape, and has a broken 1st string. The other is my dad’s, which was what I was using for the past few weeks. It just died on me yesterday – its 1st string broke as well.

My first guitarThe other three guitars here at home are mine, but alas, none of them work. My first guitar, the one pictured on the left, broke. I don’t even remember how or why it did! My second guitar is the one whose 2nd string’s peg broke just yesterday. My third, which is probably my favorite, is a blue acoustic that you could connect to an amp. Somebody dropped it when I was a senior in high school, and nobody would own up to doing so. My mom said I could probably get those fixed after we get the van fixed. I suggested that I’d just display the broken guitars & get a new one instead; my dad said it would take up a LOT of space. He’s right, given that I have the tiniest room in the house.

So here I am, left with no guitar, and feeling like I just lost a limb. I suppose I could tinker with my electronic keyboard, but I’m not a very good piano player. HA! Maybe this is some sort of signal that I should go back to playing it… I have abandoned that thing except for using it to tune guitars. Although lately I have developed some sort of interest in it again – I did try learning the piano parts of Fightstar’s “Floods” and Evanescence’s “My Immortal” this week. I’ve been trying my hand on “The Scientist” by Coldplay last night as well.

Oh, and I’ve been writing a couple of songs lately… None of them are super 100% completely finished. So with my music on indefinite hold… I’ll just blab on about what I’ve been doing in my life for the past month or so.

I should let some of you know I auditioned for this year’s MYX VJ search, but no callbacks from them. Haha. I didn’t do fantastic in my audition spiel, I mean it wasn’t horrible but it wasn’t da bomb if you get my meaning. What else, what else. Ah, I went to Enchanted Kingdom with my friends Vanessa, Ickay and Cheng, as well as her friend Rona. We of course went on rides & stuff, but we also went there to support my friend Hadi in his musical “Electrifying Kiss of Summer.” Oh, and I’m also excited that Lee DeWyze is the new American Idol. Love him. He was hilarious last week on Ellen, during Know or Go. Hahaha

I’ve also been updating some of my pages all over teh interwebs. My Twitter has a new simple/minimalistic yet still grungy design. My MySpace page is totally revamped, and I did pretty well with it if I do say so myself. I also redesigned my Tumblr, so if you’re into that kind of blogosphere, then add me up – I follow back! :D My Facebook could always use a couple more fans/likes, and you can always ask me a question if you’re bored or curious ;)

I’m excited that I have a bunch of celebrities following me back on Twitter. Ellen DeGeneres, John Vesely (Secondhand Serenade), Gavin DeGraw, Tim Urban, Vera Mesmer (previously known as Chris Turner of Reveille), and just today, Alison Sudol (A Fine Frenzy). I don’t know if the real Bob Proctor is following me, but I guess that counts. INSANE, huh? I think I’m now famous by association. LOL. :D One time, I was this close to getting followed by Shannen Doherty. I’m also working on getting the attention of Charlie Simpson and Alex Band. I want Amy Lee to follow me as well, ’cause she’s my idol, but I don’t think she does that. Damn it, what does a girl have to do to get these peoples’ attentions?! Hahaha. I’m kidding of course. I’m not that desperate, but it would really be mega cool though.

Yesterday was my dad’s 67th birthday. Could you believe it?! I think we’re celebrating it tomorrow with the whole family. We were supposed to go out of town, but since the van isn’t okay and there aren’t enough fixed vehicles to fit all eight of us, well… I guess we’re just staying in. I wonder what we’ll be feasting on. I hope there’s ice cream ;)

PS: Does anybody have a vacuum cleaner they’re willing to lend (or possibly give) to me? There’s a dust bunny in my room, and you know how fast bunnies get when it comes to multiplying…

epic BOOYAH!

// May 19th, 2009 // 2 Comments » // Celebrities, FEU, Family, Friends, Life, Love, Music, Rant, Sports, UST, Work

Damn. Been watching to much of Kim Possible at 3 in the morning. That Ron Stoppable made me say “booyah” a couple of times already! :D

ANYWAY. Onto business…

  1. David Cook & David Archuleta concert – It was AMAZING. I like them both but I never thought I’d SCREAM for Archie. And of course, DC rocked the house down. They did A Daily AntheM’s ending together. :) For concert media, check out: photos | tweets | videos
  2. I’ve been having a stressful bunch of weeks lately. More than two weeks now! Today was especially horrifying. Not naming names or specifying what happened, but all I know is it was unfair. My office laptop’s charger is missing, office tasks were created then done then cancelled, a client from my 2nd job postponed something while another client won’t respond, and on top of that… MY SANDWICH WAS SOGGY! It was barely even a sandwich. I even cried. People thought I broke up with my boyfriend or something. I said, “I wish it was love I was having problems with!” I ended up buying a muffin from Starbucks to make myself feel better, and that’s low.
  3. I absented myself from work last Thursday. Originally, I was going to watch basketball before work with a co-worker, but after I just went home for much needed rest. Like I said, too much stress!!! UST (my school) lost to State U that day, while FEU (my friends’ school) won over another college.
  4. Spent Mother’s Day with the family. We were complete except for my sister-in-law who spent her day with her mom in the parlor. lol. I gave my mom a CD each of DC and Archie, and she loved them. My brother & his wife gave her a yummy-smelling lotion, my eldest sister & her husband brought food, and my other sister made pasta. My dad drove at 3 or 4am just to buy mom flowers, despite a throbbing, painful left foot. :love:
  5. Been missing my friends. Saw a huge bunch of them lately! A lot during the concert, actually. It was pretty funny. Nothing like Idol 7 finalists to bring friends together unexpectedly! :P
  6. And oh yeah. Love life. Hmm. Where am I heading? For me to know, and for you to find out (though that never really made sense to me, haha!)

On a side note, I’m feeling MUCH better now. A Starbucks muffin, a few good friends (including online ones), and music will always make me feel better. And when I got home, my mom heated some of the food she cooked yesterday–nothing like a home made meal. COMFORT FOOOOOOD :)

PS: Danny Gokey still rules. I love Kris Allen and Adam Lambert though. Who is it for you, Kris or Adam? ;)

PPS: Should I watch the Pussycat Dolls next month?

It’s official.

// May 1st, 2009 // 1 Comment » // Celebrities, Computer, Life, Music

I’m addicted to Twitter.  :D Mini-blogging my ass. It’s actually license to stalk your favorite celebrities! ;) KIDDING.

Right now I’m really enjoying reading updates from Rob Thomas, David Archuleta, John Mayer, Jason Mraz, Jamie Cullum, and of course my friends, among many others.

Have I mentioned that John Vesely (aka Secondhand Serenade) is following my tweets? SO EFFING COOL. :D

I’m also very, VERRRRRY excited for something…

Cookie & Archie :)

Two VIP tickets are now in my possession. Next step: find a way to get back stage. LEGALLY. I’m going with Clare, my “twin.” She loves Archie, I love Cookie. But we both like both Davids. <3 This is gonna be HELLA FUN!

lalala life is wonderful

// February 27th, 2009 // Comments Off // Celebrities, Life, Music

Hurray. I’m posting here more now! I just renewed my domain a couple of days back, so now everything’s alright. Haha.

What have I been up to lately? Hmm let’s see. I wrote a couple of songs. There’s so many crazy, horrible things that’ve happened and those provoked me to write again. But hmm, I HAVE to work on those. I just need to save a bit more so I could buy a Macbook and create my songs. :)

What else, what else. Life has been good in general. I bought a ticket to “Eraserheads Live! The Final Set” so yeah I’m really happy about that.

And… I was watching American Idol last night. Here are my two bets:

Adam Lamberg

Adam Lambert

Danny Gokey

Danny Gokey

‘Cause, you know. DAMN. I don’t even care much for group three. These two are sorta reminding me of David Cook and David Archuleta from last year. You know, one rocker who knows what he’s doing, and one “small town”-ish guy who just has raw talent. I’m betting these two meet at the finals.

Of course, I still love guys like Anoop Desai (aka Anoop Dogg), Megan Corkrey, and Jackie Tohn. I hope to see them get saved at the wild card round. They’re really good.

er?

// May 19th, 2005 // Comments Off // Celebrities, Family, Friends, Love, Music, Pets, Site Updates, Sports

my puppy that charles gave me is sick—runny nose & fever. we got him to the vet yesterday cuz last tuesday he was very quiet & not himself. i never knew dogs had those illnesses. *shrug* he’s supposed to be returned today, so i’ll go see.

anyway… i went to my bro’s basketball game last night, his team won! i hung out with some people as well, but most of the time i was alone, nyaha. how boring my life is right now.

uhm, yeah. i don’t know if anyone noticed, but yesterday i recorded & uploaded another song that i wrote: a raw, acoustic copy of “even angels fall” …very annoying & squeaky. oh well. comment still. ;p

i also made harry potter blends, hehe. you can download the png’s here, maybe for use as signatures in message boards. dang i’m so excited to see the new movie! i really hope they don’t cut/edit it as badly as they did on “prisoner of azkaban” though… :p

harry, hermoine & ron

cedric, fleur & viktor

ah, the products of boredom. yet when i really need a new layout [like right now for instance], i never end up making anything even remotely close to what i like. :( will someone make me a new layout?

i’m gonna go eat chocolates now cuz it makes me feel better while charles goes to his grand-aunt’s funeral today.

and just like that—all my walls came down…

// November 27th, 2004 // Comments Off // Celebrities, Friends, Music, UST

i went to the “livre” concert last night. it was such a dud. don’t get me wrong, the bands were great. among them were sugarfree, bamboo, spongecola, cambio, chicosci… need i say more? problem is… the audience stank. it was as if it wasn’t a concert. instead it felt like a prayer vigil for peace??! it was NOT a pretty sight.

with Joycewe went over to joyce’s house before the concert. why is it that when i say things, people don’t believe me? i told them we should be early, they’re like “no, it won’t start till like an hour later.” when i said let’s fall in line, they say “oh but the line’s already long…” GAHH…! for a moment there i thought i was gonna explode!

with Kayi met up with marwil so i could give him his & enrico’s invites to my debut party. damn it, no wonder enrico wasn’t contacting me back was because he got held up a few days ago. poor guy. when i saw him this morning, he looked totally wasted. even more than i was. anywho, a lot of my old schoolmates were there and it was ok i guess. even dylan went up to us along with danny, who nonchalantly mentioned something like “ang taray nman nitong dalawa” [referring to me & joyce] and “pansinin nyo nman buhok ko” [duh??] is it just me or did he grow taller?

with Sponge Colaamie went backstage… she also found a way to get me in. i was with joyce, charles & his brother g.p. *a cutie haha* therefore, i got to meet spongecola!!!

joyce was getting conscious if her ex-boi was around or not [i had a big feeling though] as well as a certain ex-kalbo hahaha… so we asked g.p. to pretend he’s her boyfriend. heck even amie fell for it muhaha.

after that, we ate at mcdonald’s, then headed to eastwood city walks. we met up at another mcdonald’s [how odd] so we could go to a place called the basement, which fittingly enough, looks like a basement. *harhar* but trust me it was a bit difficult to get in…why? g.p. is so damn young…he’s like 15 & everyone else was 17 or 18… cyrian even had 2nd thoughts of joining cuz he had no money, so i lent him some…with force [he was too shy…! haha]

we went dancing & stuff. by “stuff” i meant playing spin the bottle therefore owning up to some secrets AND doing some crazy dares in front of 10 other people. my truth question: “would you go for a one night stand with jemal vizcarra?” and my answer was no. really. my dare? i ended up kissing a guy… not really a full-on kiss, just a smack… after that i was a bit uneasy around him… *scratches head*

gah. we ended up going our separate ways by around 4 in the morning, i went with joyce & verity to kay’s house…actually charles & g.p. accompanied us then left afterwards. we told ourselves we were not gonna sleep but we ended up taking a good 2 hours each. fwah.

i went with joyce back to her house, got my stuff & called my dad to fetch me. during the roughly 30-minute wait, we just talked about the previous night… *sigh* we can’t believe everything just happened in a flash! ah well.

joyce. nood tayo pbl sa tuesday, letran ulit =)

superman is dead.

// October 15th, 2004 // Comments Off // Celebrities, Friends, Music

Hmm… I went to the mall with amie, julianne and joyce yesterday… I bought eyeliner, blue nailpolish and a red plaid skirt FINALLY! Bwahaha…

Last october 11th christopher reeve passed away… Such a sad story… Gives new meaning to the phrase “superman is dead” eh?

After more than 2 months of having an idle mind, I wrote another song. It’s called “over you” and it’s about finally geting over “him.” Yay. *clap*

// April 20th, 2004 // Comments Off // Celebrities, Family

Finally.

Sween On Top
It’s a… uh… Vincent Larusso fansite by my friend Therese.

If you guys really know me, then you know my previous obsession with that guy. So… go visit! There’s a new layout & some new, really cool pix of Vin!!

Now for something a bit more serious. My godfather is in critical condition. Just found out yesterday. He’s now undergoing dialysis. He got a stroke a couple of months ago. Now both his kidneys aren’t functioning, and he has diabetes, and his leg is very infected (caused by a wound on one of his toes). Please pray for him or something. ANYTHING. Please.

hey! wait! i got a new complaint…

// April 19th, 2004 // Comments Off // Celebrities, Site Updates

Booyah. New layout. You weren’t expecting that, weren’t you? ;)

I’ve always wanted to do an Evanescence [or Amy Lee] layout, but I’ve never really gotten around to doing it, only until now. Basically I wanted something different from my usual style. You know me, most of my layouts are dark and/or depressing. I want something cute and girly this time. Haha. :D I did it yesterday, purely out of boredom.

Ha.

Oh no. Since the day I found Izzy’s site, I’m getting into boyband nostalgia mode again. *sigh* What. It’s Westlife. Can’t. Resist. Mark. Feehily.

Oh well.
